bryan schofield: I think the commands "join1" and "join0" could perhaps be more clearly named. Here are some possible alternatives:
join1:
join -match 1
equijoin
matchjoin
join0:
join -match 0
nonequijoin
mismatchjoin
I find "[T join -match 1 U] print" easier to understand than "[T join1 U] print".

jcw: Yes, the names are admittedly only minimally descriptive. The reason is that I want to reserve "join" for a more general implementation - hopefully these and other variants of join can then be based on it. I'll keep it in mind - good point, thx.
