Right... in many cases it's just a nice way of deploying things.

I think that it may be possible to avoid rewriting the whole thing -
what we need to do is to have a look at what proc's are eating up time
and concentrate on them. From working with the code, I have a few
guesses, but real profiling is better than guessing in these cases:-)
