I hasten to add - tclkit 8.4.13 works fine for me on my preferred  
Linux - SuSE 10.0.

But I have some older distros that I'm stuck with for various reasons  
- mainly based on older RedHat kernels (i.e. 2.4 series).

I suspect it won't be that bad - most kernel 2.6 / glibc 2.3 distros  
should be fine. Worst case will be "build your own if the provided  
one doesn't work".

But there must be a lowest common denominator out there - we just  
need help in finding it.
