[Metakit] check size of in memory database

Interesting question. I've dug around in the code for something similar but
haven't found anything that seems to do what you are looking for. For
persistent stores, you can inquire about the size of the file pretty easily,
but not the actual number of bytes used.
I know that JCW has a tool that can be used to discover the number of used
bytes in a db, but he hasn't yet released that as part of the API.
Presumably that approach would also work for an in-memory db.
