[Starkit] Has anyone experimented with thread enabled Tclkits?

snichols over on Tcler's Wiki page http://wiki.tcl.tk/10560 says
starkits do not work with the Thread extension.  I was
guessing that either this is due to performance or some not
yet thread safe condition.

I thought I might ask here and see whether anyone has experience
concerning the topic.
