Unsupported property type

I've been using Metakit (with Oomk and MK4Tcl) for a while in my app and from time to time this error pops up:
'{{unsupported property type}}'
I haven't been able to reproduce this error message myself. What causes this error? And what to do about it? I (and others on the Tcl'ers chat) think it has something to do with using invalid type specifiers in the layout but I haven't been able to reproduce it.

That error pops up in 3 places in the MK source code, twice in mk4tcl.cpp and once in mk4too.cpp - yes, it always happens when the X in "blah:X" is not one of the known types (I,L,F,D,S,B,V) - plus the case of doing a "$obj search ..." on subviews in Mk4too.
But I can't do very much if I can't reproduce this case, I'm afraid.
