7.4 - CANTCL

CANTCL (Canonical Archive Network for Tcl) is an archive system for Tcl/Tk being developed by Steve Cassidy at Macquarie University.

It provides a web based repository of binary and source code distributions of Tcl extensions, and uses an HTTP interface to allow both browser and program access to package information.

CANTCL allows the user to browse inside packages and select packages, and it can deliver files in a variety of archive formats or construct a Starkit from individual packages before downloading it to the user.

Further information is available from Cassidy's paper presented to the recent AusWeb03 conference.
